The refined Eribé Melrose Tweed Sweater Muir draws its inspiration from the open, rugged landscape of the Scottish muir — the vast heath and moorland that is so characteristic of the Highlands and Borders.
Across the muir, deep greens, purple shades and warm earthy tones subtly shift with the light and the seasons. That natural layering is reflected in this sweater. The interplay of rich purple, clear ochre and teal tones creates a balanced composition with character.
Within the Melrose Tweed collection, this model shows how Eribé’s modern interpretation of tweed can also evoke a landscape. The fine knit structure subtly refers to traditional Scottish tweed texture, while the colour blocks create a contemporary, graphic appearance.
Just as the muir radiates calm and openness, this sweater feels light and comfortable. Crafted from 100% extrafine merino wool, it is supple, breathable and temperature-regulating. The wool retains its shape and softness, season after season.
The Muir is understated yet expressive. A knit with nuance, rhythm and natural elegance.
Experience the colours of the Scottish landscape in pure merino wool.
The story behind the Eribé collection Melrose Tweed
For designer Rosemary Eribé, knitwear has never been just clothing. It is a dialogue between past and present, between landscape and body, between texture and colour. With the Melrose Tweed collection, she brings this interplay to life in a way that is deeply rooted in Scotland – yet feels surprisingly modern.
Melrose Tweed is inspired by the texture and subtle colour play of rich Scottish tweed fabric. Traditional tweed, world-famous for its depth and layering, forms the starting point. But Rosemary reinterprets this heritage with her own signature: refined colour blocking, unexpected colour contrasts and a softness that stands in contrast to the classic, robust image of tweed.
Melrose, located in the Scottish Borders, is Eribé’s home town. A historic abbey town, surrounded by rolling landscapes, an ancient Roman fort and the iconic Eildon Hills. The name of this collection, Melrose Tweed, carries a double meaning. There is not only an obvious link to the world-renowned Scottish fabric, but also to the famous Scottish River Tweed – a river that holds both geographical and textile-historical significance.
What makes this collection special is the way the classic tweed texture is combined with Eribé’s own colour vision. The fabric structure and colour play of traditional tweed are interwoven with vibrant colour blocking. The result is a joyful, colourful and exceptionally soft collection that is at once stylish, innovative and leading. Behind each design lies a complex interplay of textures and patterns, inspired by Scottish heritage and translated into contemporary elegance.
The collection consists of cardigans and sweaters, each crafted from 100% extrafine and superlight merino wool. This choice underlines Rosemary’s vision: luxury must be tangible, but also wearable. The merino wool gives the pieces a light, breathable softness, while the rich colours and textures create visual depth.
Melrose Tweed is therefore more than a nod to the past. It is a conscious reinterpretation of a world-famous fabric, designed by a woman who understands tradition and dares to renew it.
A collection that breathes heritage, celebrates colour and elevates comfort to art.
