This expressive MANUELA BEDFORD sweater is made from 89% Peruvian alpaca wool and 11% polyamide. The polyamide acts as a stabilising core within the yarn, around which the alpaca fibres are wrapped. This results in a light, voluminous yet shape-retaining knit that is perfect for a chunky sweater with great wearing comfort.
The colour play of orange, fuchsia and soft green tones creates a striking, warm pattern that feels both playful and modern. The rich, fluffy structure of the alpaca wool feels soft, lightweight and wonderfully cosy against the skin.
Its relaxed fit drapes comfortably, ideal for cold days or quiet moments at home. Pair it with denim, wool or simple trousers for a look full of personality and warmth.
The story behind the brand MANUELA BEDFORD
There are designers who create fashion, and designers who bring stories to life. Manuela Bedford does both.
Born in Peru, she grew up surrounded by colour, textiles and tradition. The soft fleece of alpacas, the dedicated handcraft of local artisans and the natural connection to the landscape shaped her understanding of clothing forever.
Later, Manuela emigrated to Germany. Together with her husband, she became one of the first pioneers to import Peruvian garments into Europe. What was still unknown to many – alpaca wool, handmade knitwear, distinctive patterns – they dared to introduce and give a stage. In doing so, they built a unique bridge between the Peruvian highlands and European wardrobes.
Today, Manuela continues to design her own garments, which are produced in Peru using soft alpaca wool. She sketches pieces full of character, colour and careful detail, which are then brought to life in Peruvian knitting workshops where craftsmanship is passed down through generations.
The result is unique knitwear pieces that you not only wear, but truly feel: warm, light, refined and filled with the story of two worlds.
With her work, Manuela Bedford brings fashion back to its essence: craftsmanship, connection and pure beauty.
